Things to do in Urmston
Urmston is the smallest town within the Traford borough with a welcoming and pleasant village style ambience. Historically in Lancashire, it is about six miles (10 km) southwest of Manchester city centre. The River Mersey provides a boundry to the south, with Stretford lying to the east and Flixton to the west. Davyhulme lies to the north of the town centre. Urmston is popular and one of the major urban areas in Trafford; it includes the areas of Davyhulme and Flixton.
There are also many family businesses which complement the village atmosphere. These boast a broad range of unique services and wares that are not always easily found in the larger towns within Trafford.
Almost 58% of the homes in the area are semi-detached. The average price for a semi-detached home is £150,000, while the average for a detached house is almost £250,000. The current average property price is approximately £180,000. One bedroom properties sell for about £100,000, while the five bedroom properties average at around £280,000, meaning there is not a very large spread between them.
As mentioned previously, this is an area mainly made up of middle class families. Warbrick Drive, The Village, and Grange Crescent are some of the pricier streets in M41, with average house prices of over £400,000. In comparison, some of the least expensive streets contain properties which sell for under £90,000. Examples include Charleston Square, Arran Gardens, and Chatsworth Close.
